!22 Feb 1726/27: IN THE NAME OF GOD. Amen. I SAMUEL BONUM of the Parish of ST. STEVENS in County of NORTHUMBERLAND being weak of body but of sound memory, do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner as follows; And first of all I recommend my Soul to God that gave it and committ my body to the earth from which it came to be buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named: And as for what worldly Estate it hath pleased God to bestow upon Ime, I give and devise in manner following; that is. I desire that all my just Debts be duly paid. Item. I give all my Lands to my Son, SAMUEL BONUM, and the ussue of his body lawfully to be begotten and for what of such issue. I give the same to the Child or Children that my Wife goes withall, and to the issue of their body or bodies lawfully to be begotten and for want of such to my right heires for ever: Item. I give to my said Son. SAMUEL. my writing black Walnutt Desk and a Silver Tumbler; Item. I give my Brother, DANIEL BONUM, a Ring of twenty shillings price, Item I give to SAMUEL HEYDON. the Son of GEORGE HEYDON, a young cow and calf to be delivered soon after my death; Item. I give to my Sister in Law, MARY BALL, my young dapple gray rideing horse. And all the rest of my Estate of what nature or kind soever, I give and devise to be equally divided amongst my loving Wife, ELIZABETH BONUM, my Son. SAMUEL BONUM and the Child or Children my Wife now goes with Item I committ the Guardianship and tuition of my son, SAMUEL BONUM, as also of the Child or Children my Wife goes withall when born to the care and management of my Uncle, GEORGE ESKRIDGE. till they come of full age, And I doe hereby make, ordain constitute and appoint the said ESKRIDGE to be my whole and sole Executors of this my Last. Will and Testament, hereby revoakeing all former Wills by me made: In Wittness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and affixed my Seal the Sixth day of December Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and twenty six. Signed Sealed and Declared in the presence of ARCHIBALD JOHNSTON, DAVID BONUM. SAML: BONUM, RALPH ELSTON. Westmoreland ss, At a Court held for the sd. County the 22d day of February 1726 The Last Will &Testament of SAMUEL BONUM, deced., was presented into Court by GEORGE ESKRIDGE, his Executor, who made Oath thereto, and being proved by the Oaths of RALPH ELSTON and DANIEL BONUM, two of the witnesses thereto, is admitted to Record Test G.
